Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to improve the browsing experience, and to provide reporting information to website owners.
When you visit the Synnectra platform, our server may send one or more cookies to your browser, which stores them on your device. Your browser then sends those cookies back to our server with each subsequent request, allowing us to recognise your device and remember important information about you — such as whether you are logged in, your session state, and your preferences.
Cookies serve a variety of purposes. Some are essential for the website to function at all (for example, by keeping you logged in as you navigate between pages). Others help us remember your preferences or understand how visitors interact with our platform. Importantly, cookies themselves do not contain personal data — they are simply identifiers. However, when linked to other data we hold about you (such as your account information), cookies can be used to identify you and are therefore considered personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This Cookie Policy explains in detail what cookies we use, why we use them, how we obtain your consent, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent at any time. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides comprehensive information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
This Cookie Policy is issued in accordance with the following legislation:
We take a data-minimisation approach to cookies. We only set cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation and security of the Service, plus a small number of functional cookies that require your explicit consent. We do not use analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.
The sections below describe each category of cookies in detail.
These cookies are essential for the operation of the Synnectra platform. Without them, the Service cannot function properly — you would not be able to log in, navigate securely between pages, or maintain an authenticated session. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the requirement for prior consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as the storage of or access to information is strictly necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or for the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| twc_session | JWT (JSON Web Token) authentication token. This cookie maintains your authenticated session across the Synnectra platform. It allows you to remain logged in as you navigate between pages without needing to re-enter your credentials on each request. Without this cookie, you would be logged out immediately after every page load or API call. | 24 hours from creation. Extended to 3 days if "Remember Me" is selected during login. Automatically invalidated upon logout. | First-party, HTTP-only, Secure |
| twc_csrf | CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) protection token. This cookie is a critical security measure that prevents malicious websites from forging requests to the Synnectra platform on behalf of an authenticated user. It operates using the double-submit cookie pattern — the token is verified against a corresponding value in the request header on every state-changing operation (such as form submissions, settings changes, and API calls). | 2 hours from creation. The token is rotated on each significant request to maintain security. | First-party, Secure |
| twc_admin_session | Administrator panel authentication token. This cookie is used exclusively for authenticating access to the Synnectra administrative panel. It is set only when an administrator logs in to the admin interface and is subject to stricter security controls and shorter session durations than user sessions. This cookie is completely separate from the regular user session cookie. | 4 hours from creation. Automatically invalidated upon admin logout or session expiry. | First-party, HTTP-only, Secure |
Can I disable these cookies? No. These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. If you block or delete them, you will not be able to log in, maintain a session, or use any authenticated features of the platform. Your browser settings may allow you to block them, but doing so will render the Service unusable.
These cookies are not essential for the basic operation of the Service, but they enhance your experience by remembering your choices and preferences. Under the ePrivacy Directive and the Danish Cookie Order, we are required to obtain your explicit consent before setting these cookies. We do this through our cookie consent banner, which appears on your first visit to the platform.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| syn_cookie_consent_v2 | Records your cookie consent preferences. This cookie stores a record of the consent choices you made when presented with the cookie consent banner — specifically, whether you accepted only essential cookies or also granted consent for functional cookies. It also records the timestamp of your consent. This cookie is necessary for us to comply with our legal obligation to demonstrate that we have obtained valid consent and to remember your preferences across sessions so that we do not show you the consent banner on every page load. | 2 years from the date consent was given or last updated, in accordance with the Danish Cookie Order (Cookiebekendtgørelsen). | First-party |
| syn_ref | Referral attribution cookie. This cookie is used to attribute new user registrations to the correct referrer in our affiliate and referral program. When a visitor clicks a referral link, this cookie stores the unique referral code so that the referring user receives credit if the visitor subsequently creates an account. This cookie is only set if you have granted consent for functional cookies. If you accept only essential cookies, this cookie will not be set. | 30 days from creation. This allows referral attribution even if the referred user does not sign up immediately. | First-party |
Can I disable these cookies? Yes. You can choose to accept only essential cookies when presented with the cookie consent banner, or you can change your preference at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the website footer. If you do not consent to functional cookies, the referral attribution cookie will not be set. The cookie consent recording cookie (syn_cookie_consent_v2) will still be set to record your preference, as this is necessary for the proper functioning of the consent mechanism itself.
We do not use any analytics cookies on the Synnectra platform. We do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any other web analytics tool that sets tracking cookies or collects browsing behaviour data through cookies.
We believe that robust privacy protections are a core part of our service, and we have chosen not to implement client-side analytics tracking. Any performance monitoring or usage analysis we conduct is based on server-side, aggregate, anonymised data that does not involve setting cookies in your browser or tracking individual users across sessions.
We do not use any marketing or advertising cookies on the Synnectra platform. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Twitter conversion tracking, retargeting cookies, or any other form of advertising-related cookie technology.
We do not engage in cross-site tracking, behavioural advertising, or any form of user profiling for marketing purposes. Your browsing activity on the Synnectra platform is never shared with advertising networks, data brokers, or other marketing entities.
We do not set any third-party cookies. All cookies on the Synnectra platform are first-party cookies, meaning they are set by our own servers and are only accessible by the Synnectra domain.
Historical note regarding Google Fonts: In the past, our website loaded fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which is operated by Google LLC. When a browser loads a resource from Google's servers, Google may set its own cookies or collect the IP address of the requesting device. We have since migrated all font delivery to self-hosted fonts — all font files are now served directly from our own servers. No requests are made to Google's servers when you visit our website, and Google cannot set any cookies or collect any data from your visit through font loading.
If you notice any third-party cookies while using the Synnectra platform, they are not set by us and may originate from your browser extensions, other websites open in your browser, or other sources outside our control. We encourage you to review your browser's cookie settings if you have concerns about third-party cookies.
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as implemented by the Danish Cookie Order (Cookiebekendtgørelsen), we are required to obtain your informed, specific, freely given, and unambiguous consent before setting any non-essential cookies on your device. We comply with this obligation through the following mechanism:
When you visit the Synnectra platform for the first time (or if your previous consent has expired or been withdrawn), you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. This banner provides clear and comprehensive information about:
Our cookie consent mechanism provides you with granular control over which categories of non-essential cookies you accept:
twc_session, twc_csrf, and twc_admin_session.syn_ref cookie will not be set. The syn_cookie_consent_v2 cookie will still be set to record your preference. The cookie consent banner presents you with the following options, each given equal prominence in terms of visibility, size, and ease of selection:
None of these options is pre-selected, highlighted as a default, or presented in a way that favours one choice over another. You are free to choose any option without being nudged toward a particular consent decision.
When you make your consent choice, we record the following information to demonstrate compliance with our legal obligations under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive:
This consent record is stored in the syn_cookie_consent_v2 cookie on your device and may also be recorded on our servers for compliance purposes.
You have the right to withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that was carried out prior to the withdrawal — in other words, any cookies that were legitimately set while your consent was active will have already served their purpose, and we will not continue to set new non-essential cookies after withdrawal.
You may withdraw or change your cookie consent preferences at any time using either of the following methods:
syn_cookie_consent_v2 cookie from your browser (either individually or by clearing all cookies for the Synnectra domain), the cookie consent banner will reappear on your next visit, allowing you to make a fresh consent decision.Upon withdrawing consent for functional cookies:
syn_ref cookie (if present) will be deleted or will expire naturally and will not be renewed.twc_session, twc_csrf, twc_admin_session) will continue to function, as they are necessary for the operation of the Service.Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing of your personal data that took place before the withdrawal. Any data collected through cookies while your consent was active was processed lawfully at that time.
In addition to the cookie consent controls provided by the Synnectra platform, you can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies. Below are instructions for the most commonly used browsers:
Please be aware that if you configure your browser to block all cookies (including strictly necessary cookies), the Synnectra platform will not function correctly. You will not be able to log in, maintain a session, or use any authenticated features of the Service. We recommend allowing at least first-party cookies from the Synnectra domain and using the cookie consent controls within the platform to manage non-essential cookies.
